Course objective (Applicability): DGS Solar Power Designers backup systems are able to design, plan and quote for the installation of state-of-the-art PV systems for grid-tied and back up applications.
Entry Requirements: Participation in the Solar Power Sunrise Intermediate Course or entry exam focusing on the subjects of this course.
Outline: The DGS Solar Power Designer Course is targeting participants who have an engineering/technician background. The focus of this professional course is on the design and planning of PV backup systems, including step-by-step calculation exercises based on example systems from site visit to quotation and installation.
Main topics:
Planning and design of back up systems for household and industrial applications, calculation of roof-top systems (grid-tied and back-up), commissioning and operation of PV plants, fault finding and quality assurance
Participants: Technicians, engineers and architects with basic knowledge on PV technical and management principles
Duration: 3 Days (240 Education units)
Fees: R6,600.00 (excl. VAT) per person, including catering, handouts and a 6 week full version of the cutting edge solar simulation tool “IBC PV Manager.
